The Best Way to Wash Your Face

Finding the right skin care can be difficult for a lot of people, especially if it seems like everything you try never seems to work. These days, skin care products are filled with additives that may make them sound more effective than the competition, but do the exact opposite to your skin than what it actually needs. If you knew of a way to achieve the same results the high end products claim to achieve, why wouldn’t you use the less expensive and more effective products for clear and beautiful skin? Much of the expense can be prevented simply by learning the right way to clean your face.

Prior to using any face washes, it is most important to make sure that you first carefully rinse your face with hot water to help open up your pores. Most breakouts and acne problems are caused to clogged pores which trap bacteria underneath the skin which causes pimples and redness. After your face is completely free from dirt and oil by washing it with hot water, you can then start considering the best way to further clean your face.

After washing your face with the hot water, a simple mild cleanser such as a regular additive free bar of soap can often do more than products containing harsh additives and chemicals. Some people find that home remedies for acne can be far more effective than the designer treatments available. Among actual skin care products, many physicians recommend Cetaphil, which you can find at any local pharmacy or department store for three dollars for a small bottle, or six to ten dollars for a large container that will likely last you for 2-3 months.

Do high end skin care items have any benefits? Well, yes and no. It is not a bad idea to try using an exfoliating scrub a few times a week to help clear your skin even further as long as it does not cause irritation to your skin. Unfortunately, these products aren’t always the best thing to use, since if they clean too well you may also lose the nutrients and oils that help prevent your skin from drying out. Don’t be afraid to try generic brands, since they often contain identical components as the high end ones. Reading labels can help you determine if the store brand is the same as the more expensive version. Another thing to consider is that while the products added to expensive skin care may be effective on animals, the human skin, especially on spots as tender as the face, are extremely sensitive, and these products may be detrimental to keeping your skin healthy and clear of acne. Because of so many potentially dangerous products out there, many people instead opt for other treatments such as milk of magnesia as acne treatment.

So remember, next time you’re looking at face care, don’t judge what your buying based on the general rule of thumb that more expensive is generally higher quality, because your skin is extremely sensitive.  By washing your face properly and learning to look for the right ingredients instead of the name brand can greatly improve the health of your skin and prevent acne.
